Outreach - On June 8, I had the pleasure of visiting the Foundation’s ¡Celebremos la vida! site in McHenry County, Illinois. McHenry County is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation and over the past twenty years has experienced a dramatic increase in its Hispanic population. Since 2004, the Foundation has partnered with the Family Health Partnership Clinic (FHPC) to offer the Celebremos program to Hispanic women over 40 in the county. We recognize that as a community, we are responsible for each other. The Celebremos clinic is truly a community effort. Phil Gordon, Rafe Furst, Joe Sebok, Perry Friedman, Ace Bailey and I were decked out in our ...

Through the leadership of the Prevent Cancer Foundation, I have witnessed an extraordinary increase in national awareness of many kinds of cancer as preventable diseases – or ones that can be successfully treated when detected in their early stages. The Foundation ...

Exercise Daily / Healthy Eating - A friend commented that my blog posts about “my challenge” for the Prevent Cancer Foundation 5K  seem to be focused on others – and not me – and wondered why? Speed Bump The truth? It’s been far easier to focus on those who have jumped on the challenge wagon and are doing great, then admit I’m hanging off the side bumping along.   At one point, it looked like I might soon become road kill. Actually, I’ve done really ...
