Smokers, Drinkers may Develop Pancreatic Cancer Earlier in Life

A recent study published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology discovered that heavy smokers and heavy drinkers are at greater risk for developing pancreatic cancer. Looking at pancreatic cancer patients and high-risk individuals, researchers found heavy drinkers and heavy smokers were diagnosed 10 to 12 years earlier than the average age of detection, 72 years old. Thank you to all participants, donors, sponsors and volunteers who helped make the 4th annual Prevent Cancer 5K walk/run the most successful yet, raising a record breaking $112,000!
